Hosting and delivery

The site is hosted by Hostinger and delivered through Cloudflare. They process technical data such as IP address, time and requested page to deliver and protect the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in secure operation).

Using the tool

When you submit a URL, our server fetches that public page and converts it to Markdown. We do not store the URL or the result after the response is sent. To enforce the free limit, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for at most one hour (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Do not submit URLs that contain personal data or secret tokens.

Bookmarklet

The bookmarklet runs only in your browser. The content of the converted page is not sent to us.

Webtools Pro

If you connect Webtools Pro by Answer the Web, we set a technically necessary cookie “atw_sat” (pseudonymous ID, 30 days) to check your Pro status (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Purchase and account are handled on answertheweb.com.

Statistics

We use Koko Analytics, a cookie-free statistics tool that runs on our own server and stores no personal data. Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) is loaded only after you accept it in the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); IP addresses are shortened. You can withdraw consent at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. Data may be transferred to the USA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
